Some great, established filmmakers have made shorts over the last few years with the support of corporate sponsors. For example, Terry Gilliam’s The Wholly Family and Spike Jonze’s I’m Here were both paid for in full, in return for branding in the credits and some PR, and neither director was obliged in any way to reflect the corporation or their products in the film at all.
